:30 Over DC - Here Comes The New Wave - comp. LP

  • limp records. 1001 / 16 tracks / 1978
  • RI (CD): 21361/district line records. / 2004
  • Plain white sleeve with two separate cover sheets, first press (1000 made) on white paper with record on red vinyl, second on light yellow paper with record on either gold (500) or black vinyl (500); third press on black. Test pressings on black. CD has some cover design, but in color.
  • Despite the somewhat cheesy title, this is a decent overview of the early DC scene. Approximately 50% of the tracks are “real” punk, 50% are of the wave-y punk kind. Standout tracks by Penetrators, Slickee Boys, Jeff Dahl, White Boy (definitely the best song they ever recorded), ½ Japanese, Judies Fixation and Da Moronics. The rest is mostly OK, but a shorter version with the best songs would have been killer. [7]
  • Tracks: The Penetrators - the break / The Rudements - imagination / Mock Turtle - thank you for sending me an eno / The Slickee Boys - attitude / Chumps - jet lag drag / Billy Synth - every time you give me a call / Jeff Dahl - get up’n dance / ½ Japanese - i want something new // White Boy - i hate / The Nurses - i can explain / Mark Hoback - no fun / Judies Fixation - martyr me / Tina Peel - knocking down guardrails / Young Turds - murder one / Da Moronics - mr. president / Raisinets - stay limp
