Approx. 25000 pressed throughout the 1980s, first pressing on black vinyl with blue band logo on front cover. + lyric sheet. Repressings have red band logo; approx. 250 made of a limited edition on green/blue marbled vinyl (1987), another limited repress on red vinyl. CD reissue on BYO has new cover design and 6 bonus tracks live 1985 at Fenders Ballroom, LA.

This might be considered an all-time posi/pop core classic today, but when it came out it met very mixed reactions from former fans - many thought it was too melodic and poppy. Compared to their later releases, it's still pretty rough, though. The drums are a bit monotonous, but the incredible melodies and Kevin's fantastic singing make these songs way more memorable than their previous efforts. A milestone in the history of (melodic) hardcore. [10]  

Bei ihrem Erscheinen löste diese erste 7 Secs LP recht unterschiedliche Reaktionen aus, von Begeisterung bis Bestürzung über den neuen, sehr poppigen Sound. Das Grundgerüst ist eigentlich normaler HC, das Revolutionäre an dieser Platte ist der Gesang, die Refrains und Chöre setzten wirklich Maßstäbe; und Kevins helle Stimme ist schon toll. Der eintönige Drummer nervt etwas, aber was soll’s. Kult.
