Studio tracks co-produced by Ian MacKaye at Inner Ear, live tracks mixing engineered by Brett Gurewitz. + lyric sheet. Two different US covers, one with yellow writing, the other one with red/purple lettering. Approx. 35000 pressed of both versions in the 1980s. Limited color vinyl repressings on red, blue and white vinyl (approx. 200-400 each). US test pressing with plain white labels in plain white sleeve. US mispressing with two A sides. UK version has different cover and additional tracks, incorrect track order on cover. US CD reissue has all 15 tracks and UK sleeve.
Their last true hardcore record before they drifted into U2-style emo rock for a couple of years. This 12” is another classic, though, even catchier and more melodic than their previous releases but still rough and noisy; and the drumming isn't as monotonous as on The Crew. Good melodic songs including an incredible cover version of Nena’s “99 Red Balloons”. UK issue adds two bonus songs and six good live tracks. [9]
Im Schlagzeug nicht mehr ganz so monoton wie auf The Crew, trotzdem noch kraftvoll und hardcorig. Ansonsten wieder tolle Hits; v.a. 99 Red Balloons (Original von uns Nena) gehört zu den 10 besten Coverversionen überhaupt. Genial. Auf der UK-LP zusätzlich noch zwei gute Studiotracks und eine Live-Seite mit recht guten Songs.
