The music on and the marketing for this record used the “Nirvana factor” shamelessly - down to the baby on the cover and the oh-so-secret hidden bonus track at the end of the CD. This is a shame because they didn’t need that at all - they had been a very original and powerful band without copying anything. This is good, commercial grunge rock, and I wouldn’t go as far as calling them copycats, but I certainly liked the older stuff better. [7]

Recht effektvoll als die neuen Nirvana angekündigt (man beachte auch das Baby auf dem Cover…). Folgerichtig hat sich die Band auch ein bißchen an den erfolgreichen Nirvana-Sound angeklinkt, was ich sehr schade finde, schließlich waren die Whigs v.a. auf ihrer ersten LP eine Band mit Originalität und Format. Hier wird guter und kommerzieller Grunge Rock geboten, der mir auch recht gut gefällt, aber ich denke, es ist trotz allem ein großer Rückschritt für die Band.
