A shift towards darker and more „mature“ material; also the metal influence is a bit stronger. It’s a bit hard to take this seriously, though, when they keep mixing up horror punk with their earlier melodic SoCal skate core, and when the singer goes for a high-pitched hybrid of Glenn Danzig and Dexter Holland. There are some good songs, but overall this is a bit too uneven for me. [6]

AFI gehen hier in Richtung eines düsteren und „reiferen“ Sounds, auch der Metal-Einfluss ist etwas stärker. Ich habe allerdings einige Probleme, das ernst zu nehmen, wenn die Musik noch so viel von ihrem früheren melodischen California-Skatecore hat, und der Sänger gleichzeitig nach Glenn Danzig und Dexter Holland (von The Offspring) klingt. Ein paar ordentliche Songs, aber insgesamt eher schwach.
