I suppose there are few records that had a worse timing than Agnostic Front’s „Dead Yuppies“ - released four weeks after the September 11 terror attack on New York’s World Trade Center. Instead of either taking the heat for title and cover art or showing a sense of diplomacy and changing them altogether the band and their label went for a lame compromise - they kept the title and added a disclaimer on the front cover. Well, music-wise there is not much change, but next to the fast & simple hardcore tunes we know from the two previous releases there are several mid-tempo sing-along songs, and there is some slight rock/metal influence again. Production is more polished again - I kind of miss the raw power of the previous album. [6]

Was für ein Timing - vier Wochen nach dem Terrorangriff auf das World Trade Center ein Album mit dem Titel „Dead Yuppies“ herauszubringen, ist schon starker Tobak. Der Disclaimer auf dem Cover, es sei ja alles irgendwie doch nicht so gemeint, macht die Sache noch peinlicher. Musikalisch gibt es neben den inzwischen bekannten 90-Sekunden-Hardcore-Reißern wieder einige mittelschnelle Streetpunk-Songs zum Mitgröhlen, und auch der Rock- und Metal-Anteil ist wieder etwas größer. Die Produktion ist entsprechend glatter und fugenloser; ich vermisse die rohe Power der vorherigen LP.
