Antidote - thou shalt not kill 7" / 12"

  • antidote records. ari-1 / 8 tracks / 1983
  • RI: D: (12”) rare records. ari-1 / oct 1991 (bootleg?)
  • RI: (7”) no label. / apr 1998 (bootleg)
  • + lyric sheet. 1000 made. After the band T-shirts were sold out they XXXed out the offer on the lyric sheet with a red marker, only early copies come without the marker Xes. Next to the regular sleeves with glued flaps there also seem to be folded sleeves without flaps; other than the missings flaps/glue they’re identical to the other copies. Feat. Arthur (ex-Misfits) on drums and John Joseph (Cro-Mags) on backup vocals on Real Deal. Rereleased on The Way it Was boot LP. German 12” rerelease has the original cover, lyric sheet, mix etc. Whether this one is an official reissue is unclear to me, I’ve heard both versions. The 1998 boot 7” has a b/w sleeve (original has green band logo).
  • Classic early NYHC EP. What this band lacks in sophistication and songwriting abilities they make up in sheer power, anger and speed. Good powerful production, too, and a great singer who sounds like a young Ray Cappo. [8]
  • Eine typische NY-Platte: was an Feinheit und Songqualität fehlt, wird durch kraftvolle Produktion und den Sänger (klingt wie Ray Cappo im Stimmbruch) wettgemacht. Klassiker.
  • Tracks: life as one / nazi youth / real deal / foreign job lot // zero mentality / got me on the line / die at war / something must be done
