Shaking off the last remaining influences of the Squirrel­bait/Dinosaur/ Minnesota sound, this is a tour de force for the listener. Hard, complex, sometimes jazzy rhythms, noisy but very exact guitars. A Big Black-style toughness is coupled with twisted post punk pop of bands like Mission of Burma or Embarrassment. Great diverse music, but definitely no easy listening album [9]

Mit dieser Platte schüttelt die Band die letzten Reste des Squirrel­bait/Dinosaur/Minnesota-Sounds ab, das Ergebnis ist eine über weite Strecken recht anstrengende, aber hervorragend gelungene LP. Auffällig ist zuerst der sehr komplexe Rhythmus und die ex­perimentierfreudige bis schräge Gitarre; teilweise ist die Musik von einer Brutalität, bei der wohl Bands wie Big Black Pate gestanden haben; andere Songs haben viel von den experimentelleren Punk­bands wie Embarrassment oder Mission of Burma; nur wenige Tracks sind wirklich melodische Hits im alten Stil. Tolle, ab­wechslungsreiche Platte, allerdings nicht so leicht konsumierbar wie die übliche Standard-Hardcore/SE/Grunge-Masche.
