+ lyric sheet. 1500 made. My copy also comes with a couple of pages from a porno novel and a red piece of paper that says “Final Notice prior to Disconnection”. The band just put random pieces of junk into the record sleeves. From the liner notes to Hammer Party: “In the original edition of ’Lungs’, there were also supplementary inserts, some of which included: dollar bills, rubber animals, locks of Will Tizzard’s hair, tiny fish hooks, cray ola sketches, Trini Lopez albums, bloody gauze, blasting caps, firecrackers, razor blades, squirt pistols (loaded), antique shop cutlery, Bazooka comics, Bruce Lee trading cards, scary photographs, old condoms, and a bunch of other shit.”

A lot more basic and amateurish than their later releases. It’s all there, though: the drum synth, the famous guitar and of course Steve’s voice, but it still sounds very garagey. Still a very interesting debut and a must-have for fans and collectors. If you don’t belong to either group getting all their other records will suffice. [7]

Im Vergleich zu den späteren Sachen klingt diese Debüt-12” noch ziemlich kellermäßig; die Elemente sind aber schon alle da: die Drumbox, die berühmte Gitarre und natürlich Steves Gesang - nur klingt das alles hier noch etwas scheppriger und amateurhafter. Interessantes Frühwerk; für Fans und Sammler Pflicht - alle anderen versäumen nichts, wenn sie nur die anderen Platten haben.
