Black Brittle Frisbee - comp. LP

  • hit city records. hcr 001 / 18 tracks / 1987
  • + lyric sheet. hand screened cover.
  • Excellent Indianapolis sampler, compiled by Paul Mahern (Zero Boys, Datura Seeds). JOT (great funk core, like a catchier version of Beefeater), Modern Vending (interesting mid-tempo HC with a nice guitar sound and some Minnesota influences), Bramble Grit (angular experimental HC, but not bad), Datura Seeds (great intelligent and catchy pop core by Paul Mahern’s new band, complex rhythm, nice melody), Sloppy Seconds (three songs off the Germany 7”, cool melodic punk rock), Right to Left (beautiful poppy soft core, sounds more like REM-style guitar rock), Mikes House (rock music, but in a good way). Great compilation, Datura Seeds and JOT are best. [8]
  • Sahne-Sampler vom Zero-Boys-Sänger Paul Mahern. Alle Bands sind aus Indianapolis: JOT (toller Funk-Core, ähnlich wie Beefeater, nur etwas eingängiger), Modern Vending (interessanter HC, mittelschnell, schöner schwebender Gitarrensound, kleiner Minnesota-Touch), Bramble Grit (etwas schräger, experimenteller HC, aber ganz gut), Datura Seeds (unglaublicher, intelligenter Pop-Core, komplexer Rhythmus, schöne Melodie, klasse. Am Mikro übrigens Paul Mahern), Sloppy Seconds (3 Songs von der Germany-7”, cooler, melodischer Punk Rock), Right to Left (wunderschöner, poppiger Softcore, eher schon Gitarrenrock a la REM), Mikes House (netter, aber eher normaler Rock). Toller Sampler, v.a. wegen Datura Seeds und JOT.
  • Tracks: JOT - dusty’s diner / going bowling / Modern Vending - cicada baby / hook’s brand jesus / weigle moves to dayton / Bramble Grit - velvet lipps / alibi in the nude / hoosier a-go-go / Datura Seeds - eatin’ you // s&p ’69 / Sloppy Seconds - germany / the men / i don’t want to take you home / Right to Left - when company comes / change the world around / Mikes House - townshend nose / i’m so proud / indiana
