First Black Flag EP, first SST release - and many claim that this is the first hardcore record. The band never wanted to be hardcore, though, and Greg Ginn thought of his music rather as a rougher sort of blues rock. Tough, uncompromising, psychotic hardcore punk classic; maybe a little simpler than the stuff they did later, but that doesn’t have to be a bad thing… This has also Ginn’s legendary guitar sound. Die erste Black-Flag-Platte, gleichzeitig auch die erste Platte des SST-Labels. Für diese Zeit ungewöhnlich hart, kompromißlos und psychotisch; eben so wie auch die späteren Songs bis zur Damaged LP. Die Stücke sind zwar noch etwas einfacher, aber deshalb nicht weniger intensiv; auch die legendäre Gitarre von Greg Ginn hat hier schon ihren ungewöhnlichen Touch. Früher Hardcore-Klassiker.
