Bratmobile have a (very short) noisy punk track with female vocals and Thai lyrics which makes it sound like some of the noisy Asian girl bands à la early Shonen Knife. Veronika Lake have a beautiful UK/4AD guitar pop feel to them, nice one. [7]

Die Mai-Ausgabe des Working-Holiday-Clubs von Simple Machines. Bratmobile aus Washington mit einem sehr kurzen, aber ganz witzigen Track, der (nicht zuletzt wegen des thailändischen(!) Texts) etwas an die einschlägigen asiatischen Krach-Girl-Combos erinnert. Veronika Lake bieten schönen, atmosphärischen Gitarrenrock, klingt sehr nach England, bißchen 4AD, bißchen TVP’s etc. Englisch jedenfalls. Insgesamt ganz brauchbar, eine der besseren 7”s der Serie.
