First-rate power pop/punk from Ottawa, Canada. The Bureacrats explode with powerful guitars, a forceful, catchy rhythm section and vocals drenched in a thick (fake?) English accent. Both songs stand as excellent proof that not all power pop is fluffy, soft-touch new wave. The title song stands out as the better of the two—its great twin guitar intro leads into a song that could’ve come from London, circa 1977. [9](MM)
