Their fourth LP, with their new singer they moved a bit more towards punk and away from hardcore. Their new singer is good, except his “punk” voice doesn’t sound too firm at times. Diverse and inventive songwriting, interesting rhythms & harmonics. Their more melodic direction might have something to do with their producer Donnell Cameron who previously worked with Bad Religion, Down by Law and NoFX; fortunately he didn’t just turn them into another Epitaph clone. Right on. [8]

Vierte und (zusammen mit der ersten) beste LP der Californier. Mit neuem Sänger ist der Bandsound wieder recht punkig geworden, ultraschnelle Hardcore-Kracher sucht man vergeblich. Dafür hat sich in anderer Hinsicht einiges getan; die Songs sind abwechlslungsreicher, vor allem die Harmonik ist bei einigen Songs sehr interessant. Daß die Musik zeitweilig recht melodisch ist, liegt sicher auch am Produzenten Donnell Cameron, der auch schon mit Bad Religion, Down by Law oder NoFX zusammengearbeitet hat; stumpfe ooooaaaaaoooo-Chöre sind aber glücklicherweise nicht vertreten. Das knurrige Geknödel des Sängers wirkt manchmal noch etwas bemüht, aber das wird noch. Ansonsten eine exzellente LP.
