Pre-release edition of 100 cassette copies for 1998 Krazy Fest. First vinyl pressing: 103 on clear vinyl, 304 on clear orange (record 1) and clear blue (record 2). Second press: 1116 copies on black, 245 copies have tour edition sleeve. 22 numbered CD copies come in double LP cover, this version was sold at one show on their 2000 tour since Hydrahead ran out of CD booklets.

The second Cave In album starts like a speed metal record, but after a few minutes they just blow all genre boundaries to bits. There’s space rock, grindcore, highly complex hardcore, rock, metal, ambient… a redefinition of metallic hardcore. Extremely powerful and angry hardcore, but at the same time well-played, highly complex metal, and sophisticated melodic progressive space rock. Yes. [10]

Beginnt eigentlich wie eine Speedmetalscheibe - Double-Bass, moshig, viel virtuose Melodie in der Gitarre - naja, immerhin ein komplexer Rhythmus. Aber schon der zweite Song sprengt das enge Genre - beginnt space-rockig, wird dann aber zu rockig-metallischem und sehr komplexem Hardcore. Dann wieder wird es eher ambient und ruhig, und so weiter… die ganze Platte ist eigentlich der Versuch, metallischen Hardcore neu zu definieren. Das Ergebnis ist eine exzellente Hardcore-Scheibe, die aber gleichzeitig eine exzellente Metal-LP und eine exzellente Rockplatte ist - je nachdem, von welchem Winkel aus man sich nähert. Trotz allem ist das kein mathematisches Rumexperimentieren, die Platte hat gleichzeitig extrem viel Power.
