Stylistically this is in the same vein as their previous LP - spaced out sci-fi psychedelic avantgarde punk. Everything sounds a bit more professional, some of the tracks even have a somewhat traditional rock structure. Certainly more accessible than Alien Soundtracks, even though the adventure and excitement are down a bit. Definitely a worthy follow-up and another classic experimental punk record. [8] I’ll not go deeper into their discography here (there’s lots of releases that are rather industrial music than punk), just a quick glance: Red Exposure (1980) has increasingly spaced out guitar stuff, but with some surprisingly punky elements; about half of the songs on Blood on the Moon (1981) are decent mechanical punk; 3^rd from the Sun (1982) is still guitar-based, but less rock-based, with longer and spacier tracks.

Stilistisch ähnlich wie die vorherige LP: durchgeknallter Sci-Fi-Psychdelic-Avantgarde-Punk. Alles klingt ein bisschen professioneller und einige Tracks haben jetzt sogar eine traditionelle Rock-Songstruktur. Es ist also alles etwas eingängiger (relativ gesehen…), das macht das Hören leichter, auch wenn mir das abenteuerliche „Wir tun einfach, was wir wollen“-Element der vorigen LP ein wenig fehlt. Trotzdem und unbedingt ein Klassiker. Die übrigen Chrome-Releases lasse ich weg, weil die Musik immer stärker in Richtung Industrial geht; Red Exposure (1980) und vor allem Blood on the Moon (1981) haben aber noch überraschend punkige Momente und sind eher Gitarren- als Synthi-Alben.
