Posthumous release by a band from Phoenix, Arizona, recorded in early 1978 but not released until 17 years later. And what a shame that is! Great proto-hardcore that beats almost everything that came out in that year in terms of speed and misanthropy. Fast, quirky, snotty teen punk, like early Black Flag on 45, early Angry Samoans, or maybe The Eyes minus the goof factor. Great driving guitar sound, cool singer, good songs… if this had been released in the 70s, it'd be regarded a classic today. After recording this LP, the band relocated to California, split up, and guitarist Paul Cutler co-founded 45 Grave and rerecorded most of the tracks; those recordings were later released on the Autopsy LP. Diese LP wurde 1978 aufgenommen, und wäre sie damals auch veröffentlicht worden, wäre sie zum “Instant Classic” geworden - genialer Proto-Hardcore, der fast alles wegbläst, was in diesem Jahr rauskam. Schneller, rotziger und trotzdem melodischer Teenpunk, erinnert an frühe Black Flag auf 45, oder auch frühe Angry Samoans. Leider lagen die Aufnahmen erst mal 24 Jahre im Keller, bevor sich schließlich das In the Red-Label erbarmte. Kultig. Gitarrist Paul Cutler gründete übrigens später 45 Grave und nahm mit seiner neuen Band viele Consumers-Stücke neu auf - zu hören und bestaunen auf der ebenfalls großartigen Autopsy-LP.
