I loved their songs on the Black Brittle Frisbee comp; but they have evolved from their early melodic hardcore sound. This is intelligent & complex popcore, but more serious and less flashy than All; more in the vein of “154”-era Wire. Excellent record. [9]

Mastermind dieser genialen Band, die schon auf dem Black Brittle Frisbee Sampler sehr positiv auffiel, ist kein anderer als Paul Mahern, der Sänger der Zero Boys. Was damals noch solider, melodischer HC war, hat sich hier zu komplexem, intelligentem Pop-Core entwickelt, der sehr viele Einflüsse verarbeitet und nicht für eine Sekunde langweilig wird. Der Vergleich zu All liegt nahe, aber DS sind unaufdringlicher, dezenter, vielleicht auch etwas ernster; erinnert mich eher an den späten Wire-Sound (154). Für manche Leute vielleicht nicht derb genug, aber auf jeden Fall gute, fantastische Musik; wen interessiert es da schon, wie sehr die Gitarren verzerrt sind… Superb.
