Soundtrack of the legendary documentation about the LA punk scene. Lots of great bands here, all tracks are live, sound quality is very good. You need this for the great Fear songs; it’s just amazing how they systematically provoke the audience to the point where they’re ready to start a riot. A classic live compilation. Penelope Spheeris, the director of the movie, later did Part II about the metal scene and Part III about the 1990s crustcore scene, but the latter was only shown on festivals and is not even available on DVD. Soundtrack zum gleichnamigen Film (sehr sehenswerte Livedoku­mentation über die LA-HC-Scene); viele gute Bands mit ordent­lichen bis sehr guten Liveversionen. Absoluter Überkult sind Fear mit ihrem legendären Auftritt (Lee: ’We’re from Frisco’, Stimme aus dem Publikum: ’Then go back to Frisco!’); das Publikum wird systematisch provoziert & bis zur Raserei getrieben - genial. Insgesamt ne gute Platte, auch wenn die Songs fast alle schon be­kannt sind.
