An interesting experiment - what happens if you put a DC hardcore band in a pro studio with a 20.000$ recording budget? This is exactly what happened to Dove who won a 1986 band contest held by Columbia records. Well, with the new possibilities of an expensive studio, the band manages to play a different version of the “new DC Sound”. Fast DC-Core, rock riffs, pop hooks, DC sound and pure American kitsch make up a unique blend. Very interesting. [8]

Was passiert, wenn man eine DC-Band in ein Studio wirft und 20.000 Dollar auf den Tisch legt? Dove hatten anno 1986 bei einem Columbia-Nachwuchswettbewerb gewonnen & durften sich im Studio austoben. Herausgekommen ist dabei eine ungemein interessante Platte, schon allein deshalb, weil damals kaum eine Band über diesen Etat verfügen konnte. Musikalisch schlägt man exakt in die Kerbe des “New DC Sounds” - aber eben mit anderen Mitteln. Schneller DC-Core wechselt sich ab mit schwülstig-kitschigen Pop-Hooks, gängigen Metal-Riffs und dem unbenennbaren magischen DC-Touch. Alles in allem eine einmalige Mischung, an der - etwas Toleranz vorausgesetzt - nur die etwas zu hallige Produktion stört.
