Fear - the record LP

  • slash records. sr-111 / 14 tracks / 1982
  • I: expanded records. ex 31 / 1982
  • AUS: big time. btb 903 / 1982 (?)
  • RI: slash / warner bros. 23933 / 1988 (?)
  • Various CD reissues (on London and Rhino), cover has an ugly “Parental Advisory” logo on the front sleeve, and Fuck Christmas is included as a bonus track.
  • Fear were a real punk band, mean, aggressive and provocative - check out their unforgettable performance in ’Decline of Western Civilization’… Their first LP already has several hardcore tracks which is a pity since they have their best moments when they play rough, dirty but melodic punk rock like on Livin in the City. Their faster tracks are simpler and tougher and remind me of early Nihilistics. All in all this is a classic, but I just wish they had recorded more punk songs. [8]
  • Tracks: let’s have a war / beef boloney / camarillo / i don’t care about you / new york’s alright if you like saxophones / gimme some action / foreign policy // we destroy the family / i love livin in the city / disconnected / we got to get out of this place / fresh flesh / getting the brush / no more nothing
