I would rather have expected Crass to sign a major label contract than them, but well, it’s the sign of the times I guess. At least on this LP it hasn’t hurt their music, it’s still beautiful guitar rock with a punk edge & that austere Minutemen touch, catchy & intelligent. [8]

Hm, Firehose waren eigentlich eine der Bands, von denen ich geglaubt hatte, sie würden sich eher erschießen, als zur Industrie zu gehen. Nun ja, der Musik hat es auf der ersten LP noch nicht geschadet; schöne, intelligente Gitarrenmusik mit kleineren Punk-Sprengseln und dem gewissen spröden Minutemen-Charme. Keine echten Hits dabei, aber Firehose sind ja auch eine echte LP-Band; sie schaffen es jedenfalls, 42 Minuten lang gute Musik zu machen, die nie langweilig wird.
