Also on “13 songs” CD together with Margin Walker 12”. “Fugazi” is a slang term from the Vietnam war that stands for “fucked up situation”.

Debut 12” from the band that turned out to be the longest lasting and most successful of all the Dischord bands. Fugazi started where bands like Embrace, Rites of Spring or Three left off, but added more rhythmic and experimental elements. Still this is very enjoyable and even catchy sometimes (this 12” has the perennial indie disco hit “Waiting Room”). A classic, I’d say. [9]

Neues Projekt einiger DC-All Stars. Fugazi haben sehr viel vom berühmten DC-Flair, der Sound wurde aber um einige neue Elemente erweitert. Die Musik ist sehr rhythmisch, Drums und Gitarre haben ganz charakteristische Figuren, die auch bei den späteren Platten immer wieder eingesetzt werden. Dazwischen kommen dann auch etwas schrägere Passagen oder deutliche Anklänge an die HC-Vergangenheit. Gefällt mir sehr gut. “Waiting Room” ist zwar inzwischen schon arg strapaziert, aber trotzdem ein Hit.
