By this time, Fugazi had turned into “hardcore superstars”; after Nirvana’s success they were heavily courted by the major labels and despite all offers (reportedly in the seven-figure range) decided to stay indie. Artistically, this was probably a very smart move, but even financially it was probably the better decision if you consider all the indie-gone-major failures of that era. Musically this is in line with their previous releases, rhythmic DC emo/hardcore, with a nice pop influence on some tracks. [8]

Inzwischen schon zu “HC-Superstars” geworden… mit allen Vor- und Nachteilen. Texte, Cover und Produktion sind - wie gewohnt - gut und aussagekräftig; die Musik ist auch wieder etwas zugänglicher geworden. Das Grundprinzip (sehr rhythmischer DC-HC mit lauten & leisen Passagen) ist dasselbe, aber nicht mehr so sperrig wie viele der älteren Tracks, manche Songs sind fast schon poppig. Gute Platte, macht viel Spaß.
