Art punk from Boston on Pere Ubu’s label (with a male singer, despite the band name). Actually this is great music with a cool and edgy guitar sound and a good singer, but the synth ruins a lot of it. I don’t mind keyboards in punk if they either stay in the background or serve a real purpose for the music, but here they are just noodling around for cheap effect (and on the A side they’re not even in tune with the rest of the music). The A side is pretty much destroyed by this, the B side is better - if the song just continued the way it starts… now that would be an art punk classic. Sigh. [6]

Artpunk aus Boston; eigentlich tolle Musik mit schneidenden Gitarren und einem guten Sänger. Leider sind die Synthis derart aufdringlich und daneben, dass man davon manchmal kaum noch etwas hört. Die B-Seite fängt großartig an; zwischendurch ist dann wieder schräges Synthigefiepse angesagt, allerdings nicht so nervig wie beim anderen Song.
