His first LP; it's amazing how he builds up guitar soundscapes from simple guitar chords that are getting louder and louder, more intense, noisier, more chaotic, and then finally explode into majestic major chords. Especially the longer tracks are brilliant; milestones of American avantgarde music. This LP is still deeply rooted in the NY underground scene (Lee Ranaldo of Sonic Youth plays one of the guitars), but as his subsequent records move him closer to the contemporary composer scene, I'll leave it at that. But check out his early symphonies, they're all great. [9]
