Glenn Danzig - who killed marilyn / spook city usa 7"

  • plan 9. pl 1015 / 2 tracks / aug 5 1981
  • 2nd press (purple): plan 9. pl 1015 / 2 tracks / aug 1983
  • D: no label. grr 001 / 1989 (bootleg)
  • J: “plan 9. pl 1015” / 1990 (bootleg)
  • ?: l-35624. gdp-9 / 1994 (bootleg)
  • ?: no label / (bootleg)
  • 5000 made of the first press on black vinyl. About 10 copies have yellow hair color on front sleeve, 2-4 copies have purple colored eye shadow on labels (as opposed to b/w regular labels). Second press: 3 test pressings on black with “PRI Record Pressing” labels. 500 on purple vinyl, 25 on swirled black & purple, but these are more a by-product from changing the vinyl color. Purple vinyl copies without labels have been reported. Bootlegs: #1 - German boot with thin b/w sleeve without the violet color (reportedly some DO have the purple color!), 500 made. #2 - Japanese boot, really well-madereal good, but the black edge on top of the front cover is missing; also the matrix number reads “PL 1015 B 1” instead of the original “PL 1015 B FWG DM”. #3 - Black and blue vinyl copies. #4 - Blue vinyl.
  • First solo project by the Misfits’ vocalist; Glenn plays all instruments himself, but this sounds like any of the great early Misfits 7”s; great melodies, rough music, and well, it’s Glenn Danzig singing. Glenn Danzig badly wanted to be the new Elvis Presley, and you can tell on the B side. Another classic. [9]
