Gorilla Biscuits - another direction 7"

  • D: flex records. 004 / 4 tracks / jul 1992
  • 599 made on black vinyl, 104 on fluorescent orange vinyl. 10 promo test pressings with test labels and alternate, numbered promo sleeve. I had the permission (from Walter, and also from We Bite records) to press 1000 live 7”s, so a second 7” was planned to make up a limited double EP set. It contains four additional live tracks from the same show. The sound came out kinda shitty (just “above average” to “good”) so the plan was abandoned and there’s just a couple of test pressings on clear vinyl with a special sleeve (around 25 copies); most of those were given away as promos along with the regular EP. Bootleg of the original 7” has a crappy xeroxed sleeve & white labels (1000?).
  • This was my first “real” release, after the two FLEX compilation EPs which were basically promo comps for other labels. I tried to do everything right with this EP, color vinyl, nice cover, good mastering studio etc. but I didn’t know anything about releasing records, so in the end everything turned out way more expensive than I had planned. I initially planned to use a live tape that I had recorded myself but got this recording (live Nov 10 1989, Sneek, Holland) from a Dutch tape collector, and the sound quality was much better so I used this one. Great band, great tracks, great show, good sound quality. [8]
  • Tracks: //Another Direction tracks:// start today / forgotten // competition / finish what you started
