CD reissue adds REM 7” tracks.
Their second LP is essentially the same great blend of power pop, punk and 60's mod that made their first an instant classic; the recording is a bit clearer and the songwriting is even better. The punk influence is slightly higher, and there are 2 or 3 songs that I'd actually call punk. Melodic, catchy as hell and absolutely charming. However, you need to get used to the singer's Prince-meets-Ray Davies voice which changes from singing to screaming (and back) in an instant. [9]
