Hardcore from Pittsburgh, PA; in contrast to their later releases that are more in a punk rock/Poison Idea vein this has more (speed)metal influences in guitars and drums; they manage to combine it with a fast aggressive hardcore sound. The main problem with this record is the muddy/sludgy production that sucks out a lot of the power. [7] But check out the remixed version of this EP on the All Our Yesterdays CD: Scorching metallic hardcore, blending fast powerful metal with furiously aggressive hardcore. The 7” would be considered a classic today had the production been this tight the first time around. Most of the CD consists of live material; the session on KCPR FM actually has decent quality, still it’s all a bit too blurry and noisy to be truly enjoyable. Well, get the CD for the remixed 7”. Hardcore aus Pittsburgh; anders als ihre späteren Platten, die eher in Richtung Punkrock/Poison Idea gehen, hat ihre erste EP mehr (Speed-)Metal-Einflüsse, vor allem bei Gitarren und Drums: hinzu kommt schneller, aggressiver Hardcore. Eigentlich eine runde Sache, wäre nicht die katastrophal dumpfe und schwammige Produktion, die einen Großteil der Power schluckt. Was für ein Klassiker unter dem Klangbrei schlummert, kann man erst bei der remixten Version hören, die auf der CD-Reissue zu finden ist – rasender, metallischer, wirklich wütender Hardcore. Wenn sie das beim ersten Anlauf so hinbekommen hätten, wäre das heute ein Klassiker. Der Großteil der CD besteht aus Livesongs – ganz interessant und vom Sound her sogar recht gut, aber letztlich dann doch etwas zu verschwommen und krachig.
