The first band to cross over from the hardcore camp to a major label, and Hüsker Dü certainly took heavy beating for it. This LP started the exodus of bands from the indie camp, the Replacements, Sonic Youth, Nirvana, Green Day, and all others who came later. Music-wise there are no big changes, the same melodic Minneapolis sound, just a little softer & more rock influenced - and you can tell they had a bigger recording budget. But it’s a great record again, even though at this point in their career, there were no more big innovations. But with great songs such as “Don’t wanna know…“ or „Sorry Somehow“ I certainly won’t complain. (TB/bj) [9]
(TB)
