This 12” marks their final move away from hardcore, and towards a more melodic style, initiating and intensifying a major shift of direction in the hardcore scene. However, this is not just pop music played through a fuzz box, the music is still complex, and a bit more experimental than on Zen Arcade. Catchy and smart “post-hardcore”. [10]

Obwohl auf dieser 12” schon die melodischen und poppigen Ansätze von Zen Arcade erkennbar sind, greift man noch manchmal auf den hektischen und komplexen Stil der früheren Platten zurück; eine sehr interessante und ansprechende Mischung, vor allem, weil die Platte trotz der manchmal etwas schrägen Passagen sehr eingängig ist. Braucht man.
