First volume in the Life is… series; diverse music in the Happy Squid/New Alliance/SST vein, not too much avantgarde stuff here. Good punk and hardcore by Red Cross, Descendents, 100 Flowers / Urinals, Minutemen and a great cynical track by Saccharine Trust; noisy/simple hardcore by Anti, Ill Will, Civil Dismay und China White, experimental electro pop by Zurich 1916, and weird saxophone stuff by Plebs. Good LP. [7]  

Ein Sampler aus der Happy Squid/New Alliance/SST-Ecke; gute LA-HC-Songs von Red Cross und Descendents, krachiger HC von Anti, Ill Will, Civil Dismay und China White; sympathischer Kellerpunk von 100 Flowes und Urinals, Avantgarde-Elektropop von Zurich 1916, cooler rhythmischer Avant-Punk von Minutemen, schräges Saxophongetute von Plebs und zum Abschluß eine zynische Punk-Nummer von Saccharine Trust. Abwechslungsreich & gut, vor allem die experimentellere B-Seite gefällt; der Rest ist ziemlich austauschbarer HC.
