3120 made of the original 12” (not 15000 as often heard). Some fiend club copies included a distorted print of the cover (same picture as inside the insert for Collection I CD). There is no original US pressing although Int Discogr lists one. Bootlegs: #1 - 7” version on black, red and green vinyl. Three different sleeves: a) Beware the living dead b) Hollywood Babylon c) regular sleeve with red and black ink. #2 - 7” version on green and white marble vinyl, blue labels. #3 - 7” version on clear or red vinyl. #4 - 12” version from Germany, 490 made, original pic labels are glued by hand on plain white labels. The cover is darker, there is a small white edge on the lower right edge of the cover, the Beware logo at the upper right corner doesn’t go up to the top like the original’s, the spine of the cover is black instead of white, and the inner groove of side B reads ’mix’ instead of ’max’. This repro is very well made, and a lot have been sold as originals, beware… #5 - green cover, 12”. #6 - blue cover, 12”, 500 made. #7 - 12” version on red and green vinyl (plus some test pressings on black). Some tracks on this are incomplete. #8 - German 12” version. #9 - 12” version on green vinyl. #10 - 12” version, band is called “Hate Breeders” on labels. #11 - 12” version with extra track “Return Of The Fly”, handwritten matrix numbers as opposed to the original’s typed numbers.
For me and probably many other Misfits fans, this collection of earlier releases is their finest record. It includes the songs from the Bullet and Horror Business 7”s (except for Children in Heat) and adds the marvellous “Last Caress” (well, forget about the lyrics). 7 songs, 7 classics. [10]
Ein wirklicher Klassiker, ohne Übertreibung. 7 Tracks, jeder ein Hit, toller, melodischer Punk Rock, der durch den krachigen Einschlag den richtigen Trash-Kick bekommt. Glenn Danzig zudem in Bestform, schöne Stimme. Gehört in jeden Haushalt, zur Not als Nachpressung.
Tracks: we are 138 / bullet / hollywood babylon / attitude // horror business / teenagers from mars / last caress
