Pressings: #1 - Probably 800 (not 1000) numbered and autographed fiend club copies (see kevfinn.com). + insert with recording info. #2 - Package with three copies of Evilive (same record with different covers) with signed covers of Jerry, Doyle and Danzig. The number of 33 packs is frequently cited but wrong (see kevfinn.com); there are 9 complete packs of 3 and one incomplete set. There is a late 80s/early 90s US bootleg of this version, mostly black back cover, not autographed (someone auctioned a copy on Ebay in 2007). #3 - 1200-1400 made with Doyle and Danzig cover, unnumbered, not autographed. 200-300 have yellow labels (probably leftovers from the Fiend Club pressing), 1000-1100 have orange labels (the actual repressing). No color vinyl for any of these versions. 7” bootlegs: #1 - Japanese bootleg has cover #1 and looks just like the original, but the ’Masterdisk’ stamp in the inner grooves is missing. #2 - European bootleg looks like the numbered original but all are numbered “512” (some also painted over to make it “542”). Also the cover lacks detail. 12” pressings: #1 - All German 12”s have tracks of the original 7”, different cover and play on 45. First press has “Theaterstr.” address. 12,000 made. #2 - Second press with “Oststr.” address at top of the back sleeve and “Skalitzer Str.” address at bottom. #4 - Final press with bar code on back sleeve. LP pressings: #1 - US LP has 5 extra tracks, 2000 made on green vinyl, unknown number on black. 3 test pressings known to exist. #2 - 1989 LP repress with additional “10/24/89” matrix numbers. #3 - CD reissue with Plan 9 logo and old Caroline logo. 16,000 made. #3 - CD and LP reissue with new Caroline logo, no Plan 9 logo. #4 - Picture disc LP edition, allegedly a Brazilian pressing.
Their only official live record. The sound is a lot better than on any of the bootlegs, still it's very trashy and noisy, and the playing is a bit chaotic at times; I definitely prefer the studio versions. It's still a good or even great record, but out of the (original) Misfits records this is the least essential. Recorded live Dec 17, 1981 at the Ritz (1-5), NYC, and Nov 20, 1981 at the On Broadway, San Francisco (6+7). 1987 LP is an expanded version with 5 bonus songs. [8]
