Pressings: #1 - Original US pressing with pink cover and pink logo outline. Promo copies have poster, band photo, band bio. Allegedly 10 acetates for this version exist, although only one copy has been confirmed. #2 - US press with purple cover and pink logo outline. Approx. 35,000 made of the first two US pressings. #3 - Italian press with (darker) pink cover and pink logo outline. Two different versions of labels: the more common one has a Slash label (white/beige), but there’s also one with a Ruby label like the US version, only the writing is white instead of red. #4 - Warner reissue with purple cover, green logo outline (this is the cover for all subsequent pressings). A few copies have been reported with white Slash labels. 3 test pressings known to exist of this version. Also, one set of two one-sided acetates exists for this pressing. Warner made a few thousand “Halloween Bags” as a promo item; this is basically a LP-sized plastic bag. #5 - CD and cassette reissue. #6 - License pressing for Columbia House mail order (CD only). 7” bootlegs (all are double 7”s): #1 - red or orange vinyl, black and white sleeve. #2 - first record on red, second on blue, green/white sleeve. #3 - green vinyl, green and white sleeve. #4 - blue vinyl, b/w cover. 500 made of #1 and 2 combined, 500 each of #3 and #4. The sound quality is much worse than that of the original recording. LP bootlegs: #1 - issued in 2000, fake Portugese license pressing on “Primeiro Mundo” records (might be a fake import, too). Red, orange, white or plain black vinyl. #2 - Picture disc LP edition, allegedly a Brazilian pressing. #3 - 2005 “Walk among us the box” bootleg edition, 50 made. 5 copies of the LP on differently colored vinyl (clear, light blue, orange, grey, green-black marbled). + T-Shirt with Pushead design, sticker and patch.

The Misfits' first LP documents the transition from their early sound to the new style quite nicely; this is mostly great melodic horror punk, but there also some faster hardcore songs. The punk songs are killer, the hardcore songs are good as well but tend to be a bit more generic. Anyway, a classic. [9]  

Diese erste LP ist ein Übergang zum neuen Stil; zum großen Teil herrschen noch die melodischen, poppigen Sachen der frühen Phase vor; andererseits sind einige Tracks auch schon im späteren/rauheren/härteren/schnelleren Stil, der mir nicht ganz so gut gefällt. Trotzdem ist diese Platte ein Juwel, Horrorpunk vom Feinsten.
