Mr. Epp and the Calculations - of course I’m happy, why? 7”

  • pravda. pro 711 / 5 tracks / 1982
  • 1000 copies, comes with lyric sheet. Two front covers exist: one that credits “Mr. Epp and the Calculations” and one that just says “Mr. Epp.”. Features guitarist Mark Arm (future Green River/Mudhoney), who only sings on “Mohawk Man,” and drummer Darren Mor-X (future Steel Pole Bath Tub). Guitarist Steve Turner (Green River/Mudhoney) later joined Mr. Epp, but a year after this 7-inch was released.
  • Experimental punk/core from the pre-pre-Sub Pop scene in Seattle, featuring future Mudhoney and Steel Pole Bath Tub members. Weird and dissonant punk, influenced by the psychotic Flipper/Hose, style, but faster and sloppier. “Mohawk Man” is actually pretty funny, with “anti-scene” lyrics; the others are annoyingly amateurish, but Flipper fans should still check it out. [6]
  • Tracks: mohawk man / no rights // wild youth on money / red brigade / acceptance
