Original version dated 1984 but the actual release was delayed until summer 1985 (first reviews in MRR and Suburban Voice show up in summer/autumn 1985 - thanks to Fabrice for pointing this out to me). Early copies have Taang’s PO Box address in Auburndale on labels and sales list.  Limited 1989 reissue on Taang on colored vinyl (blue, gold, red and clear). Recorded at Radiobeat in 1982, produced by Lou Giordano. Feat. Choke (Slapshot) on vocals. Reflex reissue has one live bonus track. Reflex pressings: #1 - 1800 on black, 100 on pink, 100 on yellow vinyl. #2 - 800 on black. Taang CD reissue adds 7 bonus tracks by Last Rights; two from the Taang 7” and five others.

Negative FX were among the founding fathers of the Boston scene (along with SSD, FU's etc.), but since they never released any vinyl during their existence their impact remained mainly local. These are studio demos that were recorded by Lou Giordano at Radiobeat in 1982. It definitely has that classic chunky Boston hardcore sound, and Choke's voice is just great, but this just does not have the class of bands like SSD or DYS. Fast and simple hardcore, powerful but a little bit too primitive. [7]  

Negative FX waren eine der legendären Boston-Bands aus der SSD/DYS/ XClaim-Ecke, veröffentlichten aber zu Lebzeiten keinen Ton auf Vinyl. Die Aufnahmen dieser posthumen LP stammen aus dem Jahr 1982, als man in Boston noch den ultraschnellen Brachial-Core pflegte; und NFX sind noch eine ganze Ecke einfacher und ungeschlifener als SSD auf ihrer ersten LP. Dadurch bekommt die Platte durchaus einen primitiven Charme, v.a. da die Band mit viel Wut am Werk ist und der Sänger eine tolle kehlige Stimme hat; andererseits wird es auch oft zu einfach, außer schnellem Gehacke ist dann nicht viel zu erkennen. Insgesamt trotzdem ein wichtiges Dokument und für Hatecore-Fans sicher eine gute Platte.
