CD copies have “Love Buzz” instead of “Big Cheese”; “Love Buzz” and “Downer” appended at the end. #2 - German version on Glitterhouse. #3 - Australian version. First pressings on blue and yellow vinyl (also red/orange?). 1992 Waterfront RI in cloth sleeve with poster, 500 made. #4 - UK version; “Love Buzz” replaces “Big Cheese”. First 300 on white, next 600 on green. #5 - Geffen 13-track CD version; remastered.
Their first LP, rougher and noisier than Nevermind, most tracks lack the catchy mainstream appeal that helped Nirvana sell a zillion copies of their second album, more on the “real” underground side (yeah!). Some great tracks, too, especially when the band balances on the edge of noise and pop. Another Seattle classic. [8]
Erste LP, Jahre vor der Seattle-Grunge-Hysterie veröffentlicht. Die Songs sind durchweg härter und krachiger und haben nicht den poppigen Mainstream-Appeal, der Nevermind zum Bestseller machte - aber das ist ja durchaus kein Fehler. Die Platte hat sehr schöne Momente, v.a. dann, wenn sich die Band auf der Grenzlinie zwischen Krach & Pop bewegt. Auch ein Klassiker der Seattle-Geschichte.
