Feat. Don Zientara.

Not really a punk record, this is rather rock music in the 60s/garage style (Sonics etc.). The band features legendary DC/Dischord producer Don Zientara, though, and the music indeed has some surprising “Revolution Summer” elements à la Rites of Spring, Gray Matter or Beefeater (let me rephrase that: now we know where these bands got their inspiration…). This is cool music with interesting harmonies, but it took the punk and hardcore foundation to make this really work. [6]  

DC-Core ohne “core”… es ist schon erstaunlich viel vom späteren DC-Feeling zu spüren (siehe Rites of Spring, Gray Matter, Beefeater etc.), aber es fehlt noch der HC, der alles zusammenhält, man orientiert sich hier eher am 60s-Punk (“Strychnine” von den Sonics, DER 60s-Punk-Band, wird auch gecovert). Interessant. Übrigens mit Don Zientara, dem Mann, der so ziemlich allen wichtigen DC-Bands in seinem Inner-Ear-Studio zu Ruhm & Ehre verholfen hat.
