Their third album was an incredible success for the band; I believe it’s still the best-selling independent hardcore record ever released. It sold 4 million copies within a year and currently stands at around 6-7 million copies. It’s a bit hard to understand why; the music is rather unspectacular yet catchy SoCal hardcore, so there’s nothing new or innovative here. But everything works a bit better than on the previous releases; the songs are faster and at the same time more memorable, and the production is clearer and more aggressive. If you’re into the commercial hardcore sound, this should work for you pretty well. [7]

Mit unglaublichen 4 Millionen verkauften Exemplaren der Durchbruch für die LA-Band (nach einem Jahr, bis heute sind es ca. 6-7 Millionen). Es hat wohl keiner so ganz genau verstanden, weshalb, denn im Prinzip ist das keine besonders innovative oder aufregende Musik; der alte Offspring-Stil eben, schneller Beat, Melodien und unverbindliche Revolutionstexte, nur das hier alles etwas besser passt und funktioniert als auf den vorigen LPs. Besseres Songwriting, klarere und knalligere Produktion… wer auf kommerziellen Hardcore steht, ist hier richtig.
