NL: homestead/boudisque. hms 140 / 1989

I'm listing this here because of the label; this is rather from the No Wave/Art/Free Jazz section. The band consists of Zeena Parkins who has worked with Elliott Sharp and other Knitting Factory people, and David Linton who used to drum for Glenn Branca. Experimental stuff, with distorted harp sounds, samples, synths etc. but with a pretty straight beat. To be honest, it's pretty difficult music but if you're patient it's quite interesting. Definitely no punk, though. [6]

Schwerverdaulicher Art/Avantgarde-Kram aus New York; mit verzerrter Harfe(!), Synthis und Samples, dazu ein durchgehender Drumbeat. Beide Musiker haben viel mit anderen Größen der Szene wie Elliott Sharp und Glenn Branca gearbeitet, und man hört auch, dass hier keine Dilettanten am Werk sind. Nicht uninteressant, aber definitiv kein Punk, und auch nichts zum Nebenbeihören.
