Powerpop was the genre the majors (and large indies) created to introduce a more marketable version of punk rock; this single definitely falls into that category. Pop/rock/guitar stuff with a punk edge, but much more mainstream than a “real” punk record. Still the production is quite edgy and noisy, and the A side has a nice melody, too. The B side is more of a regular rock song, less interesting. [6]

Powerpop nannten die Majors diesen Stil damals, um eine kommerzielle Variante des ungeliebten Punk einzuführen. Dementsprechend mainstreamig und kommerziell ist diese Single auch. Die A-Seite gefällt mir trotzdem ganz gut; netter Pop/Rock/Gitarrenkram mit ganz guter Melodie und angepunkter Produktion. Die B-Seite ist dann noch rockiger, mäßig.
