RI (LP, CD): frontier. 31009 / 2003

Solo LP by Rikk Agnew (DI), with the title referring to the fact that he’s playing all instruments, singing and co-producing (along with Thom Wilson). Very similar to the DI sound: to-the-point, melodic west coast punk, although this LP shows some more variation and includes occasional keyboards as well as surf and 60s influences. I like the DI LPs a bit better, still this is a solid release & a must-have for DI fans. [8]

Solo-LP von Rikk-Agnew (DI), bei der er - wie der Titel schon sagt - alle Instrumente selbst spielt und singt; sogar als Koproduzent hat er sich versucht. Die Musik ist der von DI sehr ähnlich; knalliger und melodischer West-Coast-Punk, wobei die Variationsbreite etwas größer ist und schon mal ein Keyboard oder eher 60s-mäßige Klänge zu hören sind. Im Ganzen fnde ich die DI-Releases doch noch etwas runder und gelungener, aber diese LP ist auch nicht zu verachten und für DI-Fans in jedem Fall Pflicht.
