One of the greatest bands to come out of DC’s “Revolution Summer”; this and the One Last Wish LP are probably my favorite Dischord releases. This is probably the first and most influential “emo core” record; desperate and melancholic but still very angry, wild and powerful DC hardcore with some 60s and Hüsker Dü influences. An all-time classic. [10]  

Stammt aus der wohl besten und innovativsten Dischord-Phase und ist im Sound vielleicht am aggressivsten, aber trotzdem sehr melodisch - ein Vergleich mit Hüsker Dü ist wohl angebracht (auch von der Stimme her). Die Grundstimmung ist sehr nachdenklich/verzweifelt/philoso­phisch, trotzdem bleibt die Musik sehr kompakt und hart, viele tolle Hooks, viele Hits und Songs, die im Ohr bleiben. Man schreckt auch vor Experimenten nicht zurück, ein gewisser 60s-Einfluß, der bei der 7” noch stärker zu hören ist, ist auch nicht zu leugnen. Eine sehr schöne, harte, gefühlvolle und mit sehr, sehr viel Herz und Hirn gemachte Platte, genial.
