Rollins Band - life time LP

  • texas hotel (LP,CD). #8 / 9 tracks / 1988
  • UK (LP,CD): fundamental. save 65 / 1988 (?)
  • RI (CD): buddha. / 1999
  • CD versions on Texas Hotel and Fundamental add 4 live tracks (Belgium 1987). Buddha CD reissue has 3 different bonus tracks (Do It, Move Right In, Next Time).
  • A lot better than the first Rollins solo LP; great darkly “emotional” production by Ian MacKaye, and the music is a lot more diverse and inventive. Good cover and lyrics, too. (TB) [8] Lifetime roughly continues where Black Flag left off; mid-tempo hardcore/rock with a manic touch and Rollins' trademark vocals. The songs are not as intense as the better post-83 Black Flag material (Ginn's guitar genius is just missing), but the music is faster, more focused and a lot better than on the last few Flag albums. (bj) [7]
(TB)
  • Tracks: burned beyond recognition / what am i doing here? / 1000 times blind / lonely / wreckage // gun in mouth blues / you look at you / if you’re alive / turned out (/ what am i doing here? / burned beyond recognition / move right in / hot animal machine II)
