In a time when punk bands started to spend tens of thousands of dollars for recording their albums, Sewer Trout went the opposite way, and it's sooo refreshing. This sounds like they recorded it in their garage, but who cares, they can write great songs, and that's all that matters. “Fun punk”, but in a smart way, cool noisy pop core with funny lyrics, great. In den Zeiten der Zig-Tausend-Dollar-Produktionen ist so eine Platte erfrischend wie ein kühles Bad: irgendwo im Keller hingerotzt, first take, das Schlagzeug rumpelt, die Gitarre schrummelt… aber das macht alles nichts, denn die Band kann tolle Songs schreiben, und nur darauf kommt es an. Witzige Songs aus der “Fun-Punk”-Ecke, ohne aber in bierseliges Gegröhle zu versinken. Stattdessen werden viele neuere Entwicklungen der Scene gehörig verarscht, die Texte sind wirklich lustig. Dazu tolle, poppige Melodien zum Mitsingen. Yep.
