This Shelter lineup is basically a 76% Uncertain reunion with Ray singing, and even though it's not as great as you might expect (a 76%/Youth of Today hybrid!) the music is a lot better than on the debut 7”. Mostly powerful NYHC, two songs are really fast hardcore in the style of Youth of Today, the others are calmer again. Rays voice sounds better, too, in a Kevin Seconds kind of way. Definitely no match for either 76% or YoT, but OK. [6]  

Ich weiß nicht, ob diese Platte vor oder nach der 7” erschienen ist, gefällt mir jedenfalls erheblich besser, wenigstens musikalisch; auch die religiöse Komponente ist nicht ganz so aufdringlich wie auf der Single. Zwei Tracks sind schöner, schneller NYHC wie zu YoT-Zeiten, andere sind langsamer, aber trotzdem kraftvoll; das ruhig/bedrohliche “Shelter” gefällt mir eigentlich am besten. Ray wimmert hier zum Glück nicht so schlimm wie auf der 7”, er probiert eher, so eine Art Kevin-Seconds-Kopie hinzukriegen, was zwar immer noch ein Abstieg im Gegensatz zu früher ist, aber trotzdem in Ordnung geht.
