STT were one of the last great DC “emo core” bands; a tag vehemently rejected by DC scenesters, but probably essential in spreading the message around the globe and inspiring countless other bands. Anyway, this is great emotional hardcore that mixes the traditional mid-80s DC core with prog-rock and psychedelia influences from the 60s and 70s (think early Yes or King Crimson). Not exactly HARDcore but very original and diverse; fantastic. [9]  

Wenn ich von emotionellem HC spreche, dann meine ich nicht irgend­welche Schoten aus Südkalifornien, die Pfadfinder­freund­schaf­ten beschwören und Winnetou-Blutsbrüder besingen, sondern Platten wie diese. Klingt wie eine gereifte, aber trotzdem immer noch jugend­lich-verwirrte HC-Band, die wehmütig/verrückt in die Welt blickt. Musikalisch steht man in bester DC-Tradition, in einer Reihe mit Rites of Spring, Embrace etc., dazu kommt ein wohldosierter Schuß Hippie-Verklärtheit a la frühe YES oder King Crimson, was der Sa­che viel Substanz und Tiefe gibt. Eine schöne und innovative Platte, die nach einigen schwächeren Dischord-releases endlich wieder den DC-Geist hat, den wir alle lieben - Power & Passion. Fantastisch.
