Combines “Idiot” and “Savant” mLPs. Special promo edition with promo sleeve and special CD design. This promo edition was named “Idiot Savant”, renamed “The Pigeon…” for the official release. Some tracks were renamed, too, “Solitary Hiro” is now called “Zeros + Ones”, and the last (untitled) track is called “Symphony in ’A’”. Music is the same , though.

Noisy grunge/blues rock with weird guitar riffs and weird singing. These guys must be huge Captain Beefheart fans, unfortunately they’re nowhere near his inge­nuity. Symphony in ’A’ is a hypnotic Branca-style chord stretched over 14 minutes, nice. [6]  

Nervenaufreibendes Werk der Sub-Pop-Band; schräge Gitarrenakkorde plus schräger Gesang plus viel Fuzz. Manchmal habe ich das Gefühl, dass ihr Idol Captain Beefheart heißt, aber in dessen Klasse können sie nun wirklich nicht mithalten. Es bleibt ein krachiger, etwas konzeptloser Blues/Grunge-Sound. Lichtblick ist die vierzehnminütige “Symphony in ’A’”, das fast schon Glenn-Branca-Qualitäten hat. Aber eben nur fast.
